A Penguin's Walkabout
Peggotty here. So I was wandering through the desert this week, and it was really hot. Obviously. I've had a lot on my mind, and I didn't notice how far from home I went. The more my mind wandered, the more my feet did. Do you ever get that way? I felt like I was in a trance- thinking of all the things, and also working at thinking of nothing to make the everything go away. It's actually quite exhausting.
Anyway- since I didn't anticipate being away from home for too long, I didn't bother to pack for a hike. I was so thirsty! Luckily I came across some materials to make something to use to cut into a cactus. I heard they have water inside them.
I'll spare you all the details... suffice to say, I made it home safe. Hot, and sticky, with sharp needle-like things and cactus goo all over me. Still thirsty.
I regret nothing.
